Depending from where in Central Jersey you start, the trip by car is about 180 miles, and will take between 3:15 and 3:30, a bit longer if traffic conditions are difficult.

The hotel's driving directions, and the directions from some internet sites, take you through New York City on I-95, via the George Washington Bridge. This is the shortest route, but the one most prone to traffic delays. We suggest the following route:

1. Start out on I-287 North toward NETCONG, Crossing into NEW YORK (about 55 miles or 1:00).
[OR take The Garden State Parkway North into New York]

2. Merge onto I-287 E / I-87 S / NEW YORK STATE THRUWAY S toward TAPPAN ZEE BR / NEW YORK CITY (Portions toll). (About 0:20 to 0:30 minutes)

3. Keep LEFT to take I-287 E / CROSS WESTCHESTER EXPY via EXIT 8 toward WHITE PLAINS / RYE. (11.3 miles, 0:15 - 0:20)

4. Merge onto I-95 N (Crossing into CONNECTICUT). (98.0 miles, about 1:30 to 2:00)

5. Take EXIT 88 – toward NOANK / GROTON LONG PT. (0.1 miles)

6. Turn LEFT onto NORTH RD / CT-117. (0.2 miles)

7. Arrive at Marriott-Mystic, 625 North Rd, Groton, CT 06340 (on the right)

Note: If traffic reports indicate delays on I-95 in Western Connecticut, you might try the Merritt Parkway. After the Tappan Zee Bridge, and past White Plains, follow the signs to the Merritt Parkway (CT 15) East towards New Haven, then take the Milford Parkway to rejoin I-95 in Milford, and continue on I-95 to exit 88, as above.
